Harris has made her support for reproductive rights a key part of her campaign and has promised to pass a law re-instating a federal right to abortion.

However, it’s unlikely Democrats would be able to do that. They’d need to win around 60 seats in the US Senate in order to gain enough power to pass a law, which will be challenge.

Abortion: Trump

Trump’s official campaign documents says he supports the idea that each state should decide its own abortion policy. This means in some states it will remain almost totally illegal, but others may vote to expand reproductive rights.

The Trump campaign document also says “we will oppose Late Term Abortion, while supporting mothers and policies that advance Prenatal Care, access to Birth Control, and IVF”
